How we source
Last updated October 29, 2026
No receipts, no trend. Here is how an entry gets on the board.
1. Find
We read trend reporting, runway reviews, buyer reports and street-style coverage from established fashion outlets, along with coverage of social-media trends. A trend needs at least one credible, specific source to be considered.
2. Check
- Every source link is opened and checked before publishing, and the check date is printed on the entry ("Sources checked").
- Links that no longer load are removed or replaced.
- Where outlets disagree, or a trend lives mostly online, we say so in the summary and in the momentum label.
3. Write
Summaries are written in our own words. We never copy an article. Quotes are short, attributed to the writer and outlet, and linked.
4. Label
Each trend gets a category (color, silhouette, print and texture, accessories, street style, or social and aesthetics) and a momentum label explained on the About page.
5. Update
The board is refreshed regularly. When a trend changes, we update the entry and its "Updated" date; when we get something wrong, we follow our corrections policy.
Automation
Trend Receipts uses AI-assisted tools to help find and check sources and to draft summaries. Every published entry links to human-written reporting, and we review entries before publishing.
